Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicantsare required to have a demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to this care philosophy. Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Housekeeping, the porter provides safe, efficient transportation of patients and MDRD equipment or supplies within the Health Sciences Centre. Qualifications: Grade 12 education or an equivalent combination of education and experience Related experience in a health care setting Previous customer service experience in a clinical setting Excellent communication and team work skills, and a proven eagerness to be part of a team Proven ability to perform well in an organized, efficient, and independent manner and the ability to work under pressure Demonstrated knowledge of "Teletracking" Working knowledge of computer software and electronic devices Good verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal/people skills (patient and familycentred philosophy of care) Ability to work with minimal supervision Flexible in related duties Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the job (ie. Heavy lifting and extensive walking). Salary Range:



$26.905 to 27.366 The Health Sciences Centre strives to ensure the safety andsecurity of the patients, visitors, employees and assets financial and otherwise.
