Contribute to secure streets in Edmonton as a Protected Mobility Engineer in Training. This role focuses on traffic safety engineering, analysis, and supporting projects for Vision Zero.
The City of Edmonton is hiring two Engineers in Training to join its Protected Mobility team. You will assist in implementing the Safe Mobility Strategy aimed at achieving zero traffic fatalities by 2032. This position allows for hands-on experience in traffic safety evaluations, supportive collaboration, and traffic engineering projects under the guidance of a senior engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed analysis on traffic safety data • Apply national guidelines for geometric and operational analysis • Recommend safety countermeasures based on research • Develop engineering drawings for traffic measures • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on projects
Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering • APEGA EIT membership required • Experience in traffic engineering and safety evaluations • Strong analytical skills in technical data • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence
