Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Thamesville, ON. As an Addiction Counsellor, your responsibilities will include conducting individual and group therapy sessions, creating personalized treatment plans, providing crisis intervention, and maintaining accurate records. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care, conduct client assessments, and offer continued support throughout the recovery process. The role also involves educating clients and families on substance use, prevention strategies, and coping skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with counseling, case management, and providing therapy in addiction recovery settings.
• Knowledge of addiction, mental health disorders, and evidence-based treatment methods.
• Strong communication, active listening, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to develop personalized treatment plans while respecting client confidentiality and ethical guidelines.
• Proficiency in maintaining and organizing accurate records and documentation.
• Familiarity with relapse prevention strategies, coping mechanisms, and family education on substance use.
• A certification or degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.
• Certification or registration with a skilled regulating body is an asset.
• Experience working in a team-oriented multidisciplinary environment is preferred.
