- Direct rig crew insetting up rigs and drilling, completing or servicing oil andgas exploration and producing wells.
- Operate controls ofdrill or service rig drilling and hoistingmachinery.
- Train or arrange fortraining of crew.
- Maintain records ofdrilling and servicing operations.
- Ensure safetyprocedures are followed.
- Drive well service orwireline truck to well site.
- Assemble and attachequipment, tools or recorders to drill stem or wireline toconduct required procedures and tests.
- Operate or direct theoperation of wireline or unit controls to lower, position andretrieve equipment and instruments.
- Operate recorders andcomputers in mobile testing or logging unit to collectdata.
Requirements
- You must be atleast 18 years old and have finished some secondaryschooling.
- Certification infirst aid, a workplace hazardous material informationsystem, fall arrest, hydrogen sulphide awareness,dangerous goods transportation, and blowout avoidance forservice rigs and boiler operations are allavailable.
- Formal on-the-jobtraining lasting three to six months.
- Enform or collegecourses (or through an affiliated partner).
- At least four yearsof rig crew experience is required.
- Rig technicianapprenticeship or Rig Technician 3 journeymancertificate
- Certificationprovided by Enform or an affiliatedpartner.
- Experience as ajunior member of a rig crew.
Required Years of experience: Atleast 3-4 years of experience
Salary: $32.00 - $47.00per hour
