Canada Post is seeking a Postal Clerk – Retail and Operations in Chapleau, Ontario. This is a temporary on-call position offering shifts across days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

- Perform a variety of sales/customer service activities to ensure complete customer satisfaction
- Operate a computer point of sale system
- Maintain floor displays and conduct merchandising and inventory control
- Maintain a high level of postal products, services and delivery knowledge
- Process financial transactions (cash, cheques, debit and credit card payments)
- Receive, sort, sequence and batch mail items
- Operate mail processing equipment (clearing jams, remove mail from sorting machines, etc.)
- Transport mail between floors/sections using rolling or motorized equipment
- Operate a computer to key in data when applicable
- Review mail items for address accuracy and proper postage




- Stand for up to 3.5 hours at a time and handle mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 lbs)

Qualifications

- Experience in customer service in a retail environment (required)
- Sales experience (asset)
- Experience working in a production environment (asset)
- Bilingual Imperative (--BB) language requirement
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends

Salary

$23.81/hour

Experience in customer service in a retail workplace required. Sales experience and production environment experience are assets. Bilingual (English/French) – Bilingual Imperative (--BB).
