Join the City of Markham as a Utility Locator, contributing to the operational excellence of municipal water and wastewater management. This temporary role focuses on utility locate services for diverse community infrastructure.

Reporting to the Waterworks Supervisor, you’ll assist in maintaining critical underground systems including water, wastewater, and stormwater. Your work will involve performing utility locations for both residential and commercial clients, using specialized equipment to ensure accurate reporting of underground assets. Furthermore, you will engage in general maintenance activities to support team objectives and enhance service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform utility locate services for various infrastructure




• Use electromagnetic tools to verify underground lines
• Develop accurate digital records of underground assets
• Participate in routine maintenance and emergency response
• Carry out miscellaneous shop maintenance tasks

Requirements:
• Minimum high school diploma
• Completion of PLAC course required
• Clean Class G driver's licence; DZ preferred
• 1-3 years relevant field experience
• Physical capability for outdoor and heavy tasks
