This is a hybrid role with in-office work required two days per week at one of our SafetyCo locations. The role also requires travel to other SafetyCo locations across Ontario approximately twice per month.
Project Overview The VP of Finance plays a key role in overseeing financial management, reporting, and operational financial controls for SafetyCo's newest endeavour, SafetyCoLabs.
This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial tracking, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting across a complex, multi-workstream initiative. In addition, the role is responsible for treasury management, auditing and reporting into the broader organization, as well as processes and controls design and implementation.
This isn’t a role for someone looking to simply clock in and clock out. We’re looking for people who take ownership, think independently, and have the confidence to make decisions, solve problems, and move things forward without waiting to be told what to do. If you’re energized by building something from the ground up, thrive in an ambitious environment, and want the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you.
Why This Role Exists The VP of Finance ensures financial discipline across all workstreams by tracking project costs, managing forecasts, supporting procurement decisions, and maintaining accurate financial reporting.
By providing clear financial visibility and governance, this role helps leadership make informed decisions and ensures responsible stewardship of project investments.
What Success Looks Like Success in this role means:
Project financials are accurate, up to date, and aligned with approved budgets, with clear visibility into all costs and commitments.

Forecasting & Planning Financial forecasts are maintained and updated regularly to reflect project progress, risks, and changes in scope.
Project expenditures, contracts, and vendor invoices are properly reviewed, tracked, and aligned with agreements.
