About the Prospect Reporting to the Program Manager and working in cooperation with the Recreation Therapist, the Therapeutic Assistant assists in the provision of health, health promotion and therapeutic services to the rehabilitation population.



The Therapeutic Assistant will work cooperatively and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team in carrying out the individual’s treatment program and communicating patient-specific information that will enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team.
About You Grade XII plus a two year certificate or diploma from a Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation Program
Current CPR certification is required
Current St. John Ambulance First Aid course preferred
Current certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is an asset
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of community resources
Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset
Successful external applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment

Hours Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits $24.75 - $28.36 Hourly
