Salary Range: $63,347 to $116,190 (based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement)
Effective Date : September 1, 2026 until not until later than November 30, 2026 (or return of teacher)

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
demonstrated ability and successful experience in teaching Comparative Civilizations12 and Learning Assistance 9-12 demonstrated high level of use of the French language
demonstrated outstanding written and oral language skills in French
demonstrated understanding of the relationship between the French language and culture
demonstrated knowledge and willingness to work cooperatively in planning an integrated approach to teaching languages
demonstrated willingness to explore and implement concepts from the new curriculum including awareness of and experience working with the First Peoples Principles of Learning




demonstrated ability to recognize and acknowledge individual student differences and to adjust instructional practices accordingly
demonstrated ability to devise and use a variety of assessment processes, including competency based assessments, that effectively allow students to demonstrate their learning
demonstrated ability to consistently incorporate a wide range of effective classroom management strategies that maintain the dignity of students with an emphasis on a proactive approach
demonstrated experience in and knowledge of methods for evaluating and selecting instructional materials suitable for students with a variety of learning abilities and implementing strategies for adapting curriculum
an exemplary work ethic with proven ability to work as an effective team member
proven ability as a curricular leader including exemplary organizational and time management skills, creative problem solving skills, effective team building skills and strong communication skills
demonstrated commitment to a vertically aligned curriculum
demonstrated commitment to the use of technology to enhance and leverage effective instructional practice and track student learning
demonstrated commitment to use technology as part of a larger initiative to communicate consistently and effectively with parents and students
demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for developing positive relationships with adolescents
demonstrated robust interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills
demonstrated commitment to and engagement in lifelong professional and personal learning
demonstrated experience using all levels of intervention to support student learning
