As a Family Support Counsellor I / II, you will engage directly with families, offering essential advocacy and resource development. Your focus includes delivering individual and family counseling, facilitating skill training for parents, and ensuring safety during crises. Close coordination with community resources and involved professionals is vital for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete assessments and set family-specific goals
• Advocate for families and facilitate resource networks
• Provide essential parent skills training
• Directly intervene in family crises and ensure follow-up
• Participate in supervision and clinical round tables
Requirements:
• Degree in Human Sciences, Childcare, or similar
• 2-4 years’ experience with children and families
• Preferred experience in in-home support
• Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license
• Personal suitability for client engagement
