This is a full-time position for an experienced Veterinary Assistant.
Qualifications
Veterinary Assistant course or equivalent experience in the veterinary field
Prior experience is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
Assist with administrative and customer service tasks as needed
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A compassionate nature with the ability to empathize and interact effectively with clients and their pets
Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced workplace
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive work culture
Strong organizational and time management skills
Technically proficient and able to set-up notifications and communications with clients via the PIMST
Thrive in a collaborative environment
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on advancements in veterinary medicine
Responsibilities and Technical Applications
Assist in handling animals safely and compassionately
Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of hospital environment
Administer oral medications and treatments under veterinary supervision
Aid in preparing patients for surgery
Assist with setting up for patient radiographs and efficiently restrain for imaging to be performed
Provide nutrition and husbandry care to hospitalized patients (setting up patient kennels, ensuring cleanliness, feeding in-hospital patients)
Monitor and record patient weights and temperatures
Prepare surgical packs and equipment for sterilization
