Al G. Brown & Associates is an independent estate, financial planning and insurance brokerage firm. We are seeking a Director of Investments to lead investment strategy and oversee our clients’ portfolios.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the firm's overall strategy for investment clients
Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive positioning to inform strategic direction
Serve as lead advisor for the firm's mutual fund and segregated fund business, directly managing client relationships and investment recommendations
Assess clients' financial goals, investment objectives, time horizon, and risk tolerance
Recommend suitable mutual funds and segregated funds based on client needs
Construct diversified investment portfolios to achieve clients' objectives
Conduct regular client reviews to ensure investments remain appropriate as markets and client circumstances evolve
Explain investment risks and expected returns clearly and transparently
Coordinate investment strategies with other aspects of a client's financial plan




Nurture existing client relationships and identify opportunities to expand on them
Direct the Product Analyst, assigning priorities and reviewing product analysis and recommendations
Direct the work of an administrative staff member, ensuring client servicing, documentation, and account processing run smoothly
Set priorities and workflows for the team to ensure responsive, high-quality service
Oversee performance of investments across the portfolio
Manage portfolio risk, diversification, and liquidity across all lines
Reporting & Governance Prepare regular investment performance reports for the partners of the firm
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Maintain investment policies, procedures, and documentation
Qualifications 5+ years of experience in investment management, asset management, or a related field
Strong knowledge of segregated funds and mutual fund structures
Relevant licensing- LLQP, mutual fund registration
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and risk management skills
Preferred CIM and CFP
