This term position will directly impact the lives of youth and young adults by providing mentorship through land-based healing. You will utilize your outdoor survival skills and Indigenous knowledge to help empower participants while addressing grief and loss. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for fostering trust and support in vulnerable communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach and mentor youth in survival skills
• Conduct traditional counselling sessions outdoors
• Prepare and lead camp activities throughout the year
• Create engaging material for land-based training
• Maintain camping equipment and inventory
Requirements:
• 5+ years living off the land experience
• Solid leadership and motivational abilities
• Knowledge of Cree, Dene, or Dakota is an asset
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Willingness to execute police background checks
