The Role

Working alongside registered practitioners and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey. Shift pattern over 7 days of the week
Key Responsibilities
Support patients throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative stages of care
Assist with the safe transfer, positioning and movement of patients within the theatre environment
Prepare, set up, clean and maintain a range of theatre equipment and surgical areas
Support registered practitioners with surgical preparation,
stock management and equipment availability
Accurately document patient and theatre information using electronic systems and departmental procedures
Participate in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and health and safety compliance
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, person‑centred care
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
No formal qualification is required, although a willingness to undertake and complete the in‑house training programme is essential
Demonstrable caring, compassionate and patient‑focused approach to supporting others
Effective communication, literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy clinical environment
Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality, dignity and patient safety
Commitment to following policies, procedures and mandatory training requirements including infection prevention, health and safety and moving and handling
Willingness to develop specialist knowledge and skills within the perioperative environment through ongoing learning and development opportunities
