Job Description
Housekeeping Manager
You lead at the heart of our iconic hotel. As Housekeeping Manager, you will use your leadership, operational expertise, and interpersonal strengths to drive excellence across our Housekeeping operations, ensuring every guest Feels Welcome from the moment they enter their room.

Leadership & Operations

Lead and manage all aspects of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring service standards and brand expectations are consistently met

Drive a culture of accountability, empowerment, and engagement within the team

Ensure five-star cleanliness standards across guest rooms, public areas, and heart-of-house spaces

Guest Experience

Address guest concerns promptly, ensuring quick follow-up and memorable recovery

Monitor guest satisfaction indicators and implement service‑improvement strategies

People Development & Colleague Engagement

Mentor, coach, and develop colleagues through ongoing training, feedback, and recognition

Conduct performance evaluations and support talent development and succession planning

Support action planning from the Colleague Engagement Survey

Administration & Financial Stewardship

Assist the Director of Housekeeping in payroll, scheduling, inventory control, uniforms, linens, and supply management

Maximize room revenue through productivity optimization and cost‑control measures

Maintain accurate departmental reporting, including KPIs and operational analytics

Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance

Promote a safe working environment by managing attendance, incident reporting, hazard prevention, and return‑to‑work programs

Collaborate with Engineering to support preventative maintenance programs

Ensure effective Lost & Found procedures

Promote health, safety, and wellbeing by maintaining in‑depth knowledge of crisis and emergency procedures





Implement all Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance action plans and track year‑over‑year improvement

Collaboration & Culture

Contribute to a positive hotel culture aligned with the needs of our colleagues, guests, owners, and brand

Actively participate in hotel committees

Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Champion Fairmont’s sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives

Qualifications
Your Experience & Skills Include

Service-focused, guest‑centric personality with proven leadership experience

Minimum 2 years of Housekeeping experience in a luxury or full‑service hotel preferred

University degree or Hotel Management diploma is an asset

Experience with Opera or a related Property Management System

Strong communication, relationship‑building, and networking skills

Ability to lead by example and foster a high‑performance team culture

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced workplace

Highly organized and detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including AM/PM/Overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours

Familiarity with unionized environments (preferred)

Strong understanding of luxury‑brand service standards

Physical Requirements

Split time between walking/standing on guest floors and working at a desk

Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and bending

Occasional climbing of ladders, stairs, and ramps

Ability to conduct room inspections requiring mobility between multiple floors
