Join the City of Edmonton as a Landscape Technician I focusing on Urban Tree Health. In this physically-demanding role, you will play a key part in tree inventory and assessment teams across the city.
Reporting to the Tree Inventory and Assessment Team, you will ensure the integrity of the City’s tree inventory, providing essential data for maintenance operations. This position requires regular fieldwork and a proactive approach to managing urban trees. You will work independently to complete assessments and engage with community inquiries regarding urban forestry management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Update and manage the urban tree inventory using mobile GIS
• Conduct annual health assessments of city trees
• Document and mark hazardous trees for removal
• Report on pest implications for urban forest health
• Optimize daily work routes for efficiency
Requirements:
• 2-year diploma in Forestry or similar
• 2 years’ experience in related fields
• Familiarity with GIS and mobile data collection
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Valid driver's license for City vehicle operations
