Take on a pivotal role at The Salvation Army as a Skilled Maintenance Worker, focusing on building upkeep and safety. Engage in minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and liaise with contractors when necessary.
In this hands-on position, you will oversee the general upkeep of The Salvation Army facilities, performing maintenance and minor renovations. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring supplies are managed, equipment is maintained, and all safety protocols are strictly followed. This role allows you to impact the community by maintaining protected and welcoming facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct minor repairs, including plumbing and electrical
• Oversee preventative maintenance for building systems
• Coordinate with contractors and manage project specifications
• Keep detailed logs of maintenance tasks and safety checks
• Ensure external property maintenance, including landscaping
Requirements:
• Completed High School education and WHMIS training
• 1-2 years of maintenance or custodial experience
• Valid BC driver's license required
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
