Seeking experienced Dementia Caregiver/PSW for a gentle, ''low-touch'' companion and housekeeping role for my parents (mid-80s) in Ottawa.

My Mother (84): Has Alzheimer''s dementia.

She is still functioning quite well socially, but her personal hygiene is slipping and she can no longer cook.

My Father (86): Has a history of a subdermal hematoma and experiences confusion with instructions.

He is proud, fiercely independent, and currently overwhelmed by managing the household (laundry and bathing are falling behind).

Because of my dad''s resistance and fear of losing his independence, we would take a very gentle approach.

We will introduce you simply as ''household help'' hired to handle cleaning and laundry.

Your initial physical duties will be light housekeeping and laundry.

However, your true role is using your dementia-care expertise to build a trusting, warm relationship with them both.





Once comfort is established, the long-term goal is to slowly transition into helping my mom with her personal hygiene.

We do not just need a cleanerwe need a skilled, patient caregiver who is willing to start with laundry to gain their trust.

Requirements: Proven experience with Alzheimer''s/Dementia.

Recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check (VSC). 2-3 professional references.

Commitment to being a consistent, weekly face.

Schedule: Part-time (approx. 2 hours, twice a week to start.

Very versatile).
