Why We Need You We pride ourselves on our efficiency and quality at our facility. As our newest Maintenance Technician, you will take on one of the most critical roles in the factory to ensure our continued success.
Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the safe repair, maintenance or replacement of plant equipment and systems to ensure production quantity and quality targets are met while supporting the company's policies, goals, and objectives.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional afternoon and weekend shifts as business needs require.
As you will be working in an industrial facility you must be able to:
Lift up to 50lbs
Climb ladders and stairs
Be agile and able to stand for continuous periods
Work in a high-volume machine production area
What will You Be Doing? Performing daily equipment checks on critical equipment,
noting any day-to-day changes in performance and taking action as necessary to return equipment to correct operating condition
Following Preventive Maintenance documents and completing the instructions defined within, noting any deficiencies with the equipment for follow up
Using diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications to familiarize yourself with the equipment and guide your troubleshooting efforts
Locating problems by observing devices in operation, identifying issues and using precision measuring and testing instruments
Removing and replacing defective parts, using hoists, hand and power tools and examining for possible causes of failure
Recording parts used during Preventative Maintenance and repair work in the company CMMS to aid inventory accuracy
Anticipating low levels of replacement parts and supplies in our inventory, placing and expediting orders as well as verifying receipt
Preparing mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Maintaining your technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and liaising with peers in your skilled networks
Ensuring a safe and clean working environment at all times whilst complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Updating operational and maintenance manuals for lab equipment to reflect any changes made
Contribute to the ongoing Continuous Improvement of the PM Work Instructions
A tenacity to understand root cause of failures and how to prevent reoccurrence
Fostering positive working relationships with peers and team members
An understanding and comfort with a 'give and take' work schedule that allows for potential off-hour emergency requirements and scheduling to minimize the impact on production
As The Successful Candidate, You Have A two-year technical degree or three years of related industrial experience
A passion for machinery with an ability to logically think and solve complex electro-mechanical problems
Precise and accurate written and verbal communication skills (English) allow you to translate complex technical terminology into layman's terms
An innate enthusiasm to learn new skills and acquire knowledge
A safety-first mindset at all times
Fantastic computer skills and competency in MS Office Suite (Word & Excel)
An ability to work rotating shifts, overtime and some weekends and holidays to suit production requirements
