Contribute to the academic exploration of Buddhist practices as a sessional lecturer at the University of Toronto. This role will engage students in the significance of rituals from September 2026 through December.

The Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto is hiring a sessional lecturer for RLG373H1F. Candidates should have a PhD in Religion and experience teaching Buddhism, particularly in ritual studies. Responsibilities include lecture presentation, grading, and developing a curriculum that resonates with students.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create a comprehensive syllabus for the course
• Lead weekly lectures and discussions on rituals
• Evaluate students’ papers and exams thoroughly




• Offer office hours for student interaction
• Perform administrative and teaching-related duties

Requirements:
• PhD in Religion or a related field
• Previous teaching experience in Buddhism
• Knowledge in ritual and material studies
• Capability to address diverse educational backgrounds
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive academic setting
