Shape the future of students in an Alternate Education role at SD 33 Learning Center. This full-time contract position requires building solid relationships and delivering flexible curriculum.
As an Alternate Education Teacher, you will engage with students needing extra social, emotional, or behavioral support while fostering an inclusive classroom community. Collaboration with district and community support will be essential to ensure the success of your students through innovative teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver instruction in all core subjects, tailored for individualized learning
• Implement trauma-informed, culturally responsive teaching practices
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment for all students
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners
• Support student social-emotional skill development and self-regulation strategies
Requirements:
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience
• Extensive academic training and professional preparation in education
• Knowledge of BC's educational standards and evaluation practices
• Experience with alternative education or inclusive learning
• Valid driver's license for instruction-related travel
