Job Description Employment Type: Fulltime - must be local to Central Alberta Pidherneys Inc. is seeking a fulltime IT Support Technician to support and improve our IT environment.
This role is suited to someone with a strong technical foundation who can work independently, prioritize effectively, and understand how systems and networks fit together.
We value practical capability and the ability to apply knowledge in real environments.
Relevant handson experience, recent education, or a combination of both will be considered.
This position blends daytoday operational support with project work across endpoints, identity and security, virtualization and servers, and core networking.
Responsibilities & Technical Scope Support and maintain Windows 11 endpoints Support iOS and Android devices within a managed environment Perform endpoint imaging, provisioning, and lifecycle management Administer MDM / UEM platforms for endpoint management Work with identity, access, and security controls including MFA and Zero Trust principles Administer and support Microsoft 365 and Azure services Support virtualization platforms and concepts Work with Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025, as well as Linux systems Configure and troubleshoot LAN, WLAN, and VPN connectivity Work with VLANs,
network segmentation, and core network design fundamentals Create and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and user guidance Use Power
Shell for automation, diagnostics, and operational efficiency Modern Skills & Approach Willing to adopt and responsibly use AIassisted tools for troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, and research Able to validate AIgenerated output, understand limitations, and apply results appropriately in a production workplace Comfortable explaining technical concepts clearly and helping others build confidence using systems and tools Experience & Background Relevant handson experience and/or recent formal education in IT, systems administration, networking, or a related field Exposure to Level 2style support, infrastructure troubleshooting, or project work is a strong asset Familiarity supporting Construction, Oilfield Service, or Trucking industries is beneficial but not required Additional Requirements Reside in Central Alberta Valid drivers license and reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 50 pounds What We Offer Competitive wage and benefits package Opportunities for advancement and skill growth Application Process
