Executive Director – Vancouver Youth ChoirVancouver Youth Choir (VYC) is seeking a creative, dynamic, and collaborative individual to serve as its next Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors and working in partnership with the Founder & Artistic Director, the Executive Director will be responsible for managing all operational components of the VYC.The organization now stands at a pivotal moment — transitioning from a high‑performing startup into a lasting civic cultural institution. This role offers a rare chance to help shape that transition.As the management leader of VYC, the Executive Director will play a crucial role in planning for the organization’s overall advancement, supporting and partnering with artists, staff, choir members, the board, and volunteers, implementing the strategic plan while building a thriving, creative, and diverse culture that serves the Greater Vancouver community.Organization and OpportunityFounded in 2012, the Vancouver Youth Choir has rapidly become one of Canada’s leading youth choral organizations. Known for artistic excellence, adventurous programming, and exceptional youth training, the choir performs locally, nationally, and internationally.Institutional Consolidation and Civic ExpansionThe organization is now entering a phase of institutional consolidation and civic expansion, strengthening its administrative infrastructure and preparing for potential long‑term capital development. The Executive Director will partner closely with the Founder and Artistic Director in guiding this next chapter.Dual‑Executive Leadership ModelThe Artistic Director leads the artistic vision, standards, and programming; the Executive Director leads operational execution, finance, fundraising, and administration.Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Executive Director provides overall operational leadership for the organization and supervises the senior managers responsible for the following functional areas:Operations (Managed by the Director of Operations)Recruitment, enrollment, registration, and fee collectionProgram logistics and participant communicationsRehearsal scheduling and venue managementVolunteer coordinationInventory and equipment managementAdministrative systems supporting day‑to‑day program deliveryProduction and Events (Managed by Director of Production and Events)Concert production logisticsTour and retreat operationsEvent and venue coordinationProduction scheduling and event executionMarketing and Development (Managed by Director of Marketing & Development)Fundraising strategy and donor stewardshipGrant development and institutional funding relationshipsMarketing and brand communicationsAudience development and campaign executionPreparation for future capital campaign initiativesInstitutional LeadershipPartner with the Artistic Director to develop multi‑year strategic plansServe as the primary operational partner to the Artistic Director, ensuring artistic vision is realized through sustainable operational, financial, and organizational planningRepresent the organization within civic, philanthropic, and cultural networksStrengthen governance processes and support the work of the BoardEnsure risk management, policy development, and regulatory complianceFinancial StewardshipOversee development of sustainable program revenue strategies, including pricing, enrollment, and accessibility considerationsLead annual budget development and long‑range financial modelingOversee financial forecasting and financial sustainability planningEnsure accurate financial reporting and oversight of audits and tax filingsMaintain strong financial controls and compliance practicesFundraising & DevelopmentLead comprehensive fundraising strategy and revenue diversificationCultivate and steward major donors and philanthropic partnersOversee grant development and institutional funding relationshipsSupport the planning and execution of future capital initiativesWork closely with development and marketing leadershipTeam LeadershipSupervise and mentor senior administrative staffBuild a healthy, accountable organizational cultureStrengthen internal systems, communication, and workflowsEnsure strong coordination between artistic and operational teamsChampion inclusive practices and equitable access across programs, operations, and organizational cultureStrategic Growth & Capital PlanningSupport exploration of potential future facility developmentOversee capital planning and feasibility processesPrepare the organization for future campaign development and expansionAdministrative InfrastructureOversight of organizational IT systems and operational toolsOwnership of the full HR lifecycle (hire‑to‑retire)Organizational policy development, compliance, and governanceProvide oversight of organizational risk management, including program delivery, touring, financial, and reputational riskGovernance & External RepresentationSupport Board governance processes and reportingMaintain compliance with regulatory and policy frameworksRepresent VYC in the community and cultural sectorEngage professionally in civic, philanthropic,
