Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing and improving the e-coating and powder coating process and conducting research and tests to develop current coatings.
Required Education & Experience
University degree in Chemical Engineering and 2 - 4 years of experience working in e-coat/powder coat facilities Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, Power
Point, Project, Outlook) knowledge
Knowledge in CAD: 3D Models, Drawings and GD&Ts; an asset
Knowledge and experience of e-coat and powder coat process is required
Essential Functions
Consistently develop, assess and implement continuous improvement projects in relation to current or future project planning.
Design, develop, and test new coatings systems and chemical titrations
Conduct research into the development or improvement of coatings process Oversee all testing in relation to the e-coat and powder coat line
Supervise e-coat lab technicians Establish and conduct quality control programs, operating procedures and control strategies to ensure consistency and adherence to standards for raw materials, products and waste products or emissions
Assist in paint line qualification
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O.
Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments,
and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28)Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee Handbook
Must work in accordance with H&S; regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
