As the HRBP, you will be the lead People representative for a lead insurance company in Canada.

This highly visible role blends strategic partnership with operational excellence to support our business success.

Acting as a trusted advisor to the Canadian leadership team, you will provide guidance to employees and leaders while ensuring compliance with Canadian employment legislation.

You will be the primary link between Canada and our International People function, playing a key role in fostering employee engagement, championing continuous improvement, and shaping the employer brand within the Canadian market.

Responsibilities Provide Strategic Guidance: Deliver expert People advice to leaders and employees across Canada to ensure a positive, compliant employee experience.

Partner with Leadership: Collaborate on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

Manage Employee Relations: Lead ER matters, including investigations, performance management, grievances, workplace accommodations, and policy interpretation.

Oversee Payroll & Compliance: Act as the People lead for Canadian payroll governance.

Coordinate inputs, ensure accuracy, manage queries, support audits, and guarantee all practices comply with federal and provincial legislation.

Drive Organizational Change: Support restructures and employment-related projects,



ensuring effective implementation and strong stakeholder engagement.

Manage Total Rewards: Oversee local benefits and reward programs, including vendor management, annual renewals, remuneration reviews, and employee communications.

Support the Employee Lifecycle: Drive recruitment, onboarding, mobility, and leave administration while maintaining accurate HR systems and records.

Execute Global Initiatives: Deliver global and divisional People programs locally, partnering with Centres of Excellence to champion transformation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications Experience: Extensive background in Human Resources, People Partnering, HR Management, or a similar generalist leadership role.

Legal Expertise: Robust knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial employment legislation and HR best practices, with a proven ability to manage complex employee relations matters.

Payroll Operations: Experience overseeing payroll processes, collaborating with payroll providers, and maintaining a strict focus on governance and compliance.

Stakeholder Management: A proven track record of influencing and building effective relationships with senior leaders, successfully balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operational delivery.

Change Management: Experience leading organizational change and driving initiatives that enhance both employee satisfaction and business outcomes.





Industry Advantage (Bonus): Experience in a complex, multinational environment.

Exposure to insurance or financial services, multi-jurisdictional support, and HR/Payroll systems like ADP is highly advantageous.
