**Quality Assurance Technician**
**Job Description**
The Quality Assurance Technician plays a key role in ensuring that all food products meet strict quality and safety standards throughout the manufacturing process.

This position performs quality checks, conducts microbiological swab of food products, maintains accurate laboratory documentation, and supports internal and external audits.

Strong computer skills and familiarity with quality systems and regulatory requirements are essential for success in this role.
**Responsibilities**
Perform comprehensive Quality Assurance checks, including Critical Control Point (CCP) checks, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) monitoring, pre-operational inspections, prerequisite checks, and verification of conformity of finished products throughout the manufacturing process.

Inspect incoming materials to confirm acceptance to required specifications and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Conduct microbiological tests such as swabbing, air sampling, water sampling, and evaluation of raw and finished products.

Review, check, and verify microbiological test results, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.

Participate in internal and external quality audits and operational reviews to support continuous improvement.

Conduct quality audits and provide timely feedback on quality issues to plant leadership, recommending corrective actions and preventative measures.

Use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power

Point, Outlook, and Teams, to prepare reports, track data, and communicate findings.

Ensure that all quality procedures and systems are fully implemented and consistently followed on the production floor.

Support adherence to HACCP, GMP, and other relevant quality and regulatory requirements within the facility.
**Essential Skills**
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power

Point, Outlook, Teams, and Windows-based software.

Experience in food manufacturing or the food and beverage industry, with a focus on quality assurance.

Knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in a food processing environment.

Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality regulatory requirements and systems.

Ability to perform microbiological testing, including swabbing, air sampling, water sampling, and product evaluation.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining laboratory records and documentation.

Ability to conduct quality audits and provide clear, actionable feedback on quality issues.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with plant teams and share quality findings and recommendations.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Certificate or Diploma in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology.





Knowledge in chemistry or chemical-related processes within a food industry setting.

Experience working in a food processing facility handling protein products such as beef, poultry, and pork.

Familiarity with quality systems used in food and beverage manufacturing.

Comfort working with varying temperatures, including cool to cold environments.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a food processing facility that focuses primarily on further processed protein products, including beef and poultry and occasionally pork.

The position operates on either a day shift (5:30 AM–2:00 PM) or an afternoon shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM), providing structured hours.

The facility environment includes varying temperatures, typically cool to cold around 15 degrees Celsius.

Personal protective equipment is required and includes safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection, reflecting a strong commitment to safety and compliance with food processing standards.

This is a Contract position based out of London, ON.
**Pay and Perks**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
