**Job Title: Order Picker Operator**
**Job Description**
The Order Picker Operator safely operates a cherry picker/order picker machine to support warehouse operations, including product put-away, order picking, and general material handling.
This role involves regular heavy lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, and using RF scanning technology to maintain accurate inventory records in a high-volume distribution environment.
**Responsibilities**
Operate the cherry picker/order picker machine to pick and move products throughout the warehouse.
Perform product put-aways, ensuring items are stored in the correct locations according to inventory guidelines.
Complete order picking tasks accurately and efficiently to meet daily fulfillment targets.
Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and record inventory movements in the warehouse management system.
Handle heavy lifting of products up to 50 lbs on a regular basis while following safe lifting practices.
Work at heights on the order picker machine with proper fall protection and safety awareness.
Support general labor duties such as organizing inventory, cleaning work areas, and assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed.
Follow all safety procedures, including the use of fall protection equipment, steel-toe footwear, and safety vests.
Collaborate with team members, including other order pickers and forklift operators, to ensure smooth workflow on the warehouse floor.
Maintain equipment and report any mechanical or safety issues with the order picker or related machinery.
**Essential Skills**
Active Fall Protection ticket (online certification is acceptable).
Experience operating an order picker machine (cherry picker), with at least 6 months of recent experience and ideally up to 1 year.
Previous order picking experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Proven ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
RF scanner experience, including RF scan gun operation and RF scanning for inventory control.
Comfort working at heights while using appropriate safety equipment.
Warehouse experience, including familiarity with inventory, picking, and general labor tasks.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience operating stand-up forklifts and reach forklifts is an asset.
Experience with reach lifts and order picker/packer duties.
Previous operation of Raymond equipment is considered an advantage.
Strong attention to detail when handling inventory and completing picks.
Ability to work effectively in a busy warehouse with 50+ staff per shift.
Reliability and willingness to support team lead and leadership initiatives as opportunities arise.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a large, modern 100,000 sq. ft. distribution facility near the airport that services regional automotive parts dealers.
The warehouse operates with 50+ staff on each shift, including a team of 20–30 employees on the day shift with skill sets such as order pickers and forklift operators.
The schedule for this position runs Monday to Friday from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
The environment is active and fast-paced, with extensive use of order pickers, forklifts, and RF scanning technology to manage inventory.
Dress code is casual, with long pants required, along with steel-toe footwear and a safety vest to meet safety standards.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
