**Job Title: Prototype Assembler**
**Job Description**
The Prototype Assembler builds and wires complex electrical and mechanical assemblies for medium voltage drives and starters, following detailed technical documentation and strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
This role reads and interprets mechanical and electrical drawings, assembles and installs a wide range of electrical components, troubleshoots wiring and assembly issues, and actively contributes to continuous improvement, training, and a positive, team-oriented work environment.
**Responsibilities**
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, electrical codes, pick lists, bills of material, specific procedures, and documented work instructions.
Assemble and fit prefabricated parts to form subassemblies at benches or directly on cabinets.
Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts and subassemblies such as isolators, contactors, capacitor banks, and control panels.
Install electrical and electronic equipment and instruments including terminal blocks, relays, circuit breakers, PLC devices, switches, fans, heater circuits, and related components according to technical manuals and written instructions.
Install, replace, or rework electrical wiring, receptacles, switches, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, and other electrical components.
Wire electrical components inside medium voltage drives and starters in accordance with approved electrical drawings and other schematics.
Install switchgear, transformers, contactors, switchboard meters, regulators, capacitors, rectifiers, earthing switches, reactors, power supplies, and other electrical components for medium voltage drives and starters.
Operate necessary hand tools and power tools for electrical wiring and assembly safely and effectively.
**Essential Skills**
Ability to read and understand written instructions, including specific procedures and documented work instructions.
Competence in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and bills of material.
Safe and effective use of manual hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs safely.
**Work Setting**
Work is performed at an individual work station, with each contractor having a dedicated area for assembly and wiring tasks.
The role involves regular use of hand tools, power tools,
and electrical test equipment such as multimeters, working with medium voltage drives, starters, and associated components in an industrial production setting.
The environment follows strict safety, quality, and 5S standards, requiring the consistent use of appropriate safety equipment and adherence to documented procedures.
The position operates on a day shift schedule from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, Monday to Friday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of CAMBRIDGE, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in CAMBRIDGE,ON.
