The
**Facilities Power Engineer**
is responsible for operating,
inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, heating, cooling, and
pressure systems across the plant and facility.

This role supports preventative
maintenance, emergency response, and system upgrades while ensuring compliance
with codes, safety standards, and standard operating procedures.

They collaborate
with contractors and tradespeople, interpret technical documentation, maintain accurate
records, and contribute to asset reliability, energy efficiency, and
operational continuity through proactive maintenance and problem-solving.
**What you do:**
Operateand monitor all plant and facility heating, cooling, mechanical, and pressure systems,including boilers, chillers, energy recovery systems, HVAC, pressure vessels, andpumps, etc.

Ensure safe, efficient, and continuous 24/7 performance byadjusting systems to meet changing load demands.

Monitorreal-time equipment performance using building automation systems, controls, meters,and sensors.

Analyze weather, occupancy, and historical energy trends to adjustoperational parameters and optimize energy efficiency, occupant comfort,safety, and system reliability.

Trackand document system efficiency, energy consumption, and operational trends to supportperformance analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement.

Respondto alarms, service calls, tickets, and operational disruptions to support emergencyresponse, maintain occupant safety, and ensure continuous building operations.

Implement temporary solutions and coordinate follow-up repairs.

Maintaindetailed operational records, including shift logs, system adjustments, key metrics,and equipment status.

Provide explicit shift handovers to ensure continuity
Maintain,service, inspect, and repair mechanical, heating, cooling, and pressure systems,including but not limited to boilers, chillers, pressure vessels, HVAC, energy recoverysystems, pumps, chemical treatment, and emergency systems.

Conductroutine and detailed inspections to detect wear, performance degradation, equipmentfaults, excessive vibration, and safety or regulatory compliance issues, etc.





Performpreventative maintenance following PM schedules, task checklists, manufacturerspecifications, and industry best practice.

Typical tasks include cleaning andlubricating equipment, replacing seals, gaskets, and strainers, verifying valveand control operation, maintaining chemical treatment and emergency systems,etc.

Diagnoseand troubleshoot system issues such as equipment failures, pressure or temperatureinconsistencies, flow restrictions, actuator or valve malfunctions, etc.

Completecorrective repairs within scope and escalate complex issues.

Maintainaccurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and system modificationsto support compliance, traceability, asset management, and knowledge sharing.

Prepare reports summarizing work completed, issues identified, and recommendationsfor improvements.

Monitorinventory of tools, consumables, and parts, and coordinate reordering as neededto ensure maintenance readiness and operational continuity.

Supportcapital and operational projects involving mechanical, heating, cooling, and pressuresystems upgrades, replacements, and retrofits by reviewing design documents, provideinput on maintainability of designs, coordinating infrastructure tie-ins andsystem shutdowns, and assisting with system integration.

Collaboratewith engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure compliance with codes,drawings, specifications, and best practices.

Reviewand interpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and specificationsto ensure accurate installations and integration with existing systems.

Identifyand recommend opportunities to enhance system performance, energy efficiency,safety, and sustainability.

Contribute to lifecycle planning, energy managementinitiatives, asset management, and long-term infrastructure improvements.
**What you bring:**
Completionof a high school diploma, along with a valid 4th Class Power Engineering certificationand a minimum of 3 years of post-certification experience in buildingoperations.

Proficiencyin operating plant systems, equipment, tools, and building automationsystems.

Requiresworking knowledge of MS Office Suite and proficiency in maintenancemanagement systems.

Formal training or certification in energy managementand efficiency is considered an asset.

Mustbe a dependable, safety-conscious individual with strong technicalknowledge of mechanical, heating, cooling, and pressure systems.

Mustbe self-motivated to be productive while working independently andcollaboratively in an efficiency-focused operational environment,exercising sound judgment and initiative.

Mustbe physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including work inconfined spaces, at heights,



and near water.

Strongproblem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential forinteracting effectively with team members, contractors, and the public.

Aproactive approach to preventive maintenance, regulatory compliance, andcontinuous improvement is expected.

**Working setting:**
This
position is required to work in diverse environments, including exposure to
noise, odors, dust, fumes, and varying weather conditions.

Tasks may require
working at heights, over water, or in confined spaces, with occasional heavy
lifting and potential exposure to unsanitary conditions.

Shift work is required
to maintain uninterrupted 24/7 coverage, ensuring continuous operations.

Operators are expected to provide coverage for extra hours on occasion when unplanned
absences or urgent repairs dictate.
**Marine Transportation Security Clearance**
This position is required to access restricted
areas/information.

The incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid Marine
Transportation Security Clearance as defined by the Marine Transportation
Security Regulations.
