**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler**
**Job Description**
This role supports a large custom casting manufacturer specializing in architectural ceiling products.

As a General Laborer, you contribute to the production of high-quality castings by working with hand and power tools, assisting in construction and manufacturing tasks, and handling materials in a busy, hands-on environment.

You work on a day shift in a well-lit facility that includes mold making, cementing, and fiberglass departments, where attention to safety and proper use of protective equipment is essential.
**Responsibilities**
Perform general labor duties in casting, mold making, cementing, and fiberglass departments as directed.

Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently to support manufacturing and construction-related tasks.

Handle, move, and lift materials and products, including regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.

Assist with the preparation, pouring, and finishing of casting materials for architectural ceiling products.

Read and follow basic instructions and blueprints as required for production tasks.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, especially in dusty and high-traffic zones.

Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of respirators or N95 masks when required in designated departments.

Wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear, protective coveralls, safety glasses, and respirators or N95 masks where necessary.

Work effectively in a dusty environment and around fiberglass materials, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Support painting and finishing processes as needed, ensuring products meet quality standards.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.

Be available for voluntary overtime when offered, including some Saturdays or extended end-of-shift work.
**Essential Skills**
Experience using hand and power tools in a construction, manufacturing, or renovation environment.

Previous experience working in a dusty environment.

Ability to work around fiberglass materials safely and comfortably.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Good energy level and ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.

Comfort with wearing a respirator or N95 mask when required.

Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment correctly.

Basic ability to understand and follow blueprints or work instructions.

Experience in construction, manufacturing, or renovation settings.

Experience working around fiberglass in an industrial or production environment.

Painting experience, particularly in a manufacturing or finishing context.

Comfort working in large, busy workspaces with multiple departments.

**Work Environment**
You work in a non-unionized manufacturing facility with approximately 30 employees, featuring large, well-lit workspaces and a dedicated lunch room equipped with microwaves.

The environment is very dusty, and some areas, particularly the fiberglass department, can have a strong smell, so comfort with these conditions is important.

Voluntary overtime is often available, including Saturdays or extra time at the end of shifts, and overtime pay applies after 40 hours.

Required PPE includes steel-toe footwear that covers the ankle, protective coveralls worn over regular clothing, and safety glasses provided by the company.

Once permanent, employees receive overalls and can join a laundry service.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MISSISSAUGA, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
