**Job Title: Journeyman Electrician**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on electrical work for new construction and tenant improvement projects in a mixed-use commercial to residential setting in downtown SW Calgary.
You will perform a full range of journeyman-level electrical tasks, including installations, retrofits, and renovations, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
**Responsibilities**
Read and interpret electrical blueprints and construction drawings to plan and execute installations accurately.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, lighting, and related systems in new commercial construction and residential tenant improvement projects.
Perform retrofits and renovations on existing electrical systems in commercial and residential environments.
Run and install conduit, including bending and installing up to 4-inch conduit for various applications.
Pull wire and cable for power, lighting, and control systems, ensuring proper routing, labeling, and terminations.
Install and service fire alarm systems and related electrical components as part of new build commercial construction.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform repairs to ensure systems operate safely and reliably.
Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate fall protection and aerial work platform equipment when required.
Drive your own vehicle to various project sites, primarily the main site in SW Calgary and, when needed, to additional locations such as Rocky View.
Work scheduled shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and participate in overtime and weekend work as required by project needs.
Collaborate with other trades and team members on-site to coordinate tasks and maintain efficient project workflows.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are used and stored properly.
**Essential Skills**
Valid Journeyman Electrician license.
Proven experience in new construction electrical work.
Hands-on experience in commercial construction environments.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings.
Skilled in retrofits and renovations of existing electrical systems.
Proficiency in bending conduit, including up to 4-inch pipe.
Experience running conduit and pulling wire for various electrical systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving electrical issues.
Capability to perform electrical installation, repair, and maintenance tasks independently.
Ability to drive and use your own vehicle to travel to job sites.

**Work Environment**
Work is primarily performed at a main site in Calgary, with potential additional assignments at nearby project locations such as Rocky View.
The standard shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with overtime available after 44 hours per week and enhanced pay rates for weekend work.
The environment involves active construction sites with commercial and residential tenant improvement projects, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of certifications such as WHMIS, CSTS, AWP, and Fall Protection.
You use typical electrical tools and equipment for installation, troubleshooting, and repair tasks, and you travel to sites using your own vehicle.
The setting is hands-on, fast-paced, and focused on delivering high-quality electrical work in a professional construction environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
