Shipping & Receiving Team Lead

Location: Brampton
Pay: CA $60,000 per year

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Team Lead to join their team. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for helping coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities while supporting the team in a busy industrial workplace.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and an organized leader who can manage competing priorities, work effectively with others, and help ensure materials and shipments move efficiently through the facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support the shipping and receiving team during daily operations
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing materials, products, and shipments
- Help prioritize daily tasks based on production and shipping requirements
- Operate a counterbalance forklift to move materials safely and efficiently
- Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments
- Ensure shipping and receiving activities are completed accurately and on schedule
- Assist with organizing materials and maintaining an efficient work area
- Help address day-to-day issues and adjust priorities as operational needs change
- Promote safe work practices and follow company policies and procedures
- Provide hands-on support to the team as needed
- Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding workflow, priorities, and potential issues

Qualifications

Required:

- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- Previous counterbalance forklift experience




- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work

Nice to Have:

- Previous experience working with metal or steel
- Experience in a metal shop, fabrication environment, or manufacturing facility
- Overhead crane experience
- Previous shipping and receiving experience in an industrial environment
