Job Description:

Trout River requires a positive, co-operative and motivated individual to join our finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing the accuracy of financial reporting. This position is for a skilled, hands-on, detail-orientated individual who is well organized and efficient in performing accounting tasks with minimal supervision. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Financial Controller.

Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

- Compile accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with accounting standards
- Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Support tax compliance, including sales tax and corporate tax filings
- Seek project funding opportunities to support company initiatives including proposal development, reporting, compliance and overall project management
- Analyze financial data, identify variances, and provide valuable insights
- Lead and support finance-related initiatives, including system upgrades, process improvements and policy updates
- Support the evaluation and enhancement of accounting processes, internal controls and operational efficiencies
- Mentor junior accounting staff by providing guidance and training
- Work closely with other finance department staff members by aiding, collaborating and reviewing work as required




- Work with various departments to ensure accurate financial data integration
- Provide administrative support to management and other staff as needed

Required Skills:

- Diploma/Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of experience doing a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
- Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills
- Good problem solving and changing management abilities
- Strong ethics and professionalism
- Motivated and proactive with a desire to learn and continuously improve
- Strong computer skills including the ability to operate Microsoft Office products

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
