COMPANY OVERVIEW
Recovery Science Corporation (RSC) operates the GPS monitoring program for Ontario’s Ministry of the Solicitor General. The program monitors individuals who are under various forms of supervision in the community, such as bail, conditional sentences, and parole. The activities required to deliver these services include Onboarding, Alerts Management, Offboarding, and Reporting.
PURPOSE
Recovery Science Corporation is looking for a highly detail-oriented, analytical, and organized individual to join our Onboarding/Offboarding team as a Profile Builder.
The Profile Builder is responsible for reviewing and interpreting release orders, conditional sentence orders, temporary absence permits, variations, suitability documents, and other monitoring-related documentation to create accurate operational profiles for individuals entering or continuing in the RSC GPS monitoring program.
This role involves translating complex legal and monitoring documents into clear and reliable monitoring instructions. The successful candidate must be able to identify important details, recognize inconsistencies or ambiguity, and know when clarification or escalation is required. Accuracy is critical, as the information entered into the monitoring profile supports monitoring, alert interpretation, field operations, reporting decisions, and quality control.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and interpret release orders, conditional sentence orders, temporary absence permits, variations, suitability documents, and related monitoring documentation.
- Create accurate operational profiles based on the information contained within source documents.
- Accurately capture monitoring terms, schedules, residences, inclusion zones, exclusion zones, authorized leave permissions, restrictions, operational notes, and wearer information.
- Review documentation carefully to identify inconsistencies, omissions, contradictions, or other information that may impact monitoring.
- Identify unclear or incomplete information and request clarification or escalate concerns when necessary.
- Ensure that information is not assumed, changed, broadened, or narrowed beyond what is supported by the source documentation.
- Maintain accurate and timely profile information across RSC's operational systems.
- Track pending documents, clarification requests, profile corrections, inbox categorization, and document uploads through to completion.
- Work with multiple files and competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Adapt to changing procedures, system workflows, monitoring standards, and operational requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to interpret complex written information and translate it into transparent operational instructions.
- Strong judgment and the ability to recognize when information requires clarification or escalation.
- Ability to remain accurate while working under time pressure, interruptions, competing priorities, and changing operational urgency.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply detailed procedures, system workflows, naming conventions, and profile-building standards.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and other operational systems.
- Experience in GPS monitoring, criminal justice, legal administration, corrections, compliance, dispatch, or operational quality control is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with criminal justice terminology, release documents, monitoring conditions, or court-related documentation is considered an asset.
COMPETENCIES
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify small wording differences, missing information, incomplete documentation, inconsistent names, conflicting dates, profile discrepancies, and terms that may materially affect monitoring.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to assess what a source document actually says, determine what can be operationalized, recognize what is unclear, and identify what requires clarification or escalation.
- Accuracy Under Pressure: Ability to maintain high-quality profile-building standards while processing time-sensitive requests, competing priorities, and frequent operational interruptions.
- Judgment and Escalation: Ability to recognize the difference between information that can be appropriately entered into a profile and situations that require management, subject matter expert, or external clarification.
- Organization and Follow-Through: Ability to track pending documents, clarification requests, profile corrections, inbox categorization, and document uploads through to completion.
- Clear Communication: Ability to document uncertainty, restrictions, exceptions, profile notes, and follow-up requirements in concise language that downstream teams can rely on.
MENTAL & COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to maintain prolonged concentration when reviewing detailed legal and operational documents.
- Ability to process multiple complex files at the same time without losing accuracy or missing critical details.
- Ability to rapidly assess competing priorities and determine which items require immediate action, follow-up, or escalation.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and precise when work volume, urgency, or ambiguity increases.
- Ability to make sound operational judgments when information is incomplete, conflicting, or unclear.
- Ability to avoid unsupported assumptions and recognize when a decision must be paused pending clarification.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing procedures, system workflows, monitoring standards, and operational expectations.
- Reliable attendance and schedule discipline to meet time-sensitive business needs.
