Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Tandoor Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking traditional Indian dishes using the tandoor oven, ensuring each meal meets our high standards of flavor and presentation. Your expertise will help deliver memorable meals that delight our guests and uphold our restaurant’s reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, focusing on tandoor-cooked items such as naan, kebabs, and other grilled specialties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tandoor oven and cooking area in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food preparation tasks including marinating, portioning, and assembling ingredients for cooking
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed at all times to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist in food service by preparing dishes promptly during busy hours to ensure timely delivery to customers
- Follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
- Support overall kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation and other duties as needed
Experience
- Prior food service experience, especially in restaurant or kitchen environments, is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques within the food industry
- Familiarity with serving customers in a fast-paced setting is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Experience working with traditional Indian cuisine or tandoor ovens is advantageous but not mandatory
- Robust understanding of meal preparation processes and maintaining quality standards in a busy restaurant setting
