The Role

We’re looking for a Budtender who wants to do more than stand behind a counter.

You’ll help customers understand products, make recommendations based on what they’re looking for, operate the point of sale system and help keep the store clean, organized and running properly.

But you’ll also have a voice in what we build.

We want our budtenders and store team involved in shaping the Farmgate experience. You’re the people talking to customers every day, hearing what they’re looking for, what they love, what they don’t and what they wish we carried.

That feedback matters here.

We want to work with our team to help curate the menu, identify products worth bringing in, improve the customer experience and build a store people genuinely want to shop at.

Good ideas shouldn’t have to come from head office.

What You’ll Do

- Greet customers and create a welcoming retail experience
- Ask the right questions and help customers navigate different cannabis products and formats
- Learn the Glenn’s product lineup and confidently explain what makes each product different
- Provide thoughtful product recommendations without being pushy
- Share customer feedback and help identify products and categories customers actually want




- Participate in conversations around menu selection, merchandising and the overall Farmgate experience
- Help us discover interesting products and brands that deserve a place on our shelves
- Operate the POS system and process transactions accurately
- Verify identification and follow all AGCO requirements and store procedures
- Receive, organize and replenish inventory
- Maintain accurate product counts and assist with inventory management
- Keep displays, counters and the store clean and organized
- Stay current on new products, brands and trends in the Ontario cannabis market
- Help create the kind of store people actually want to come back to
- Support the Store Manager and Retail Lead with day to day store operations

What We’re Looking For

You must be 19 years of age or older.

A valid CannSell certification is required before working in the store.

Cannabis retail experience is an asset, but we’ll consider someone with strong retail, hospitality or customer service experience who genuinely wants to learn.

We especially want people who have opinions about cannabis retail and aren’t afraid to share them.

If you know great products, follow what’s happening in the market or constantly hear customers asking for something stores aren’t carrying, we want to hear about it.

You should be comfortable speaking with customers from all walks of life.

You’ll need strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to stay organized when the store gets busy.

Most importantly, we need someone reliable. If you’re scheduled to work, people are counting on you to be there.

Compensation

$20.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience, cannabis knowledge and retail background.

Availability

Candidates should have flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as required.

Our Farmgate store will operate extended hours, so reliable availability is important.
