POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We currently have an exciting role for a Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator in 100 Mile House, B.C. at South Cariboo Landfill, Inter Lakes and Watch Lake Transfer Station sites.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Experience working with cardboard/ plastics baler is preferred but not mandatory

-Experience using a forklift and skid steer, troubleshooting baler repairs

-Cleaning bale room and maintaining equipment

-Working knowledge of the waste management industry and related practices and policies.

- Follow all Safety Policy and Procedures daily, during operations, which includes wearing PPE and 2 way radio for site communication.

- Conduct Pre and post trip inspections daily on equipment and tent, and report all maintenance needed.

- Report all Incidents and Accidents immediately.

- Responsible for Scatter picking work area.

- Responsible for snow removal in the winter.

- Responsible for fire suppression in the summer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Valid Class 5 Drivers License with air brake endorsement

- 2 years experience using a forklift and skid steer, troubleshooting baler repairs

- Previous experience operating heavy equipment is considered an asset.

- Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects.

- Experience in the waste industry is considered an asset.

- Proven ability to work independently while being a team player.
