Job description:

Matlow, Miller, Cummins, Thrasher LLP is the oldest law firm in Cambridge, located in the heart of Galt. We are seeking a Litigation Clerk to add to our growing legal team. The ideal candidate requires a minimum of 2 or more years of experience and must be able to work as part of a team in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities will include:

· Assist lawyers and senior law clerks with all stages of the litigation process

· Prepare, review, and file court documents including pleadings, affidavits, motions, and application materials

· Manage and organize litigation files, both physical and electronic

· Coordinate service and filing of court documents through the Ontario courts and relevant online filing systems

· Assist with the preparation of document briefs, motion records, trial materials, and Affidavits of documents

· Maintain calendars, limitation periods, and key litigation deadlines

· Support discovery processes, including document review, organization, and production





· Assist with e-discovery platforms and electronic document management as part of litigation preparation

· Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court offices, and external vendors as required

Requirements

· 2+ years of experience in litigation support within a law firm

· Law Clerk diploma or equivalent legal education

· Solid understanding of Ontario civil litigation procedures and court rules

· Interest in developing skills in e-discovery and electronic document review

· Excellent organizational and file management skills

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

· Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems

· Knowledge of Automated Civil Litigation, Adobe Acrobat

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
