Your Opportunity:

An exciting prospect exists for a Mental Health Therapist to provide individual and group therapy to clients experiencing moderate to severe addiction and mental health issues. The position reports directly to the Program Manager, Community Addictions and Mental Health - NE and uses a variety of treatment modalities including ART, DBT, CBT, etc. The ideal candidate will have formal therapy experience, including experience facilitating process and skills-based groups.

Description:

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

1-3 years formal therapy experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a community outpatient mental health clinic is an asset. Formal training in DBT and ART preferred.
