We are seeking an experienced Folder/Gluer Machine Operator for a full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining folder/gluer equipment while ensuring production efficiency, product quality, and compliance with safety and operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and load appropriate stock and materials for production.
- Set up feeder, prefold, glue system, final fold, delivery, stacker, and packing stations.
- Set up and operate folder/gluer equipment according to customer specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Feed raw materials into the machine and monitor production throughout the run.
- Maintain optimal machine speed, efficiency, and product quality.
- Identify machine malfunctions and make appropriate adjustments or troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Inspect finished products and control non-conforming products and overages according to procedures.
- Maintain proper line clearance to prevent product mix-ups.
- Record production data, material usage, make-ready time, and operating information accurately.
- Move materials and finished products using hand trucks or industrial equipment as required.
- Add approved chemicals, solutions,
or materials required for the manufacturing process.
- Oversee machine crew and provide training on proper equipment setup and operation.
- Assist with new product development by providing technical knowledge of machine capabilities.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, quality, and operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating Bobst folder/gluer machines.
- Previous carton packaging experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a production team.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality and productivity.
- Must have CSA-approved safety shoes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform frequent bending and squatting.
- Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for repetitive tasks.
- Good visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses, and solid attention to detail.
