Your Contribution:
Your main responsibilities
As an Intermediate or Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality building and infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead or support the design of electrical systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and municipal projects;
- Prepare electrical design calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and contract documents for various project types;
- Develop and review electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, communications, and control systems;
- Produce and coordinate design deliverables using AutoCAD, Revit, and other applicable design software;
- Perform quality control reviews of drawings, specifications,
and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards;
- Coordinate electrical designs with internal disciplines including mechanical, structural, civil, and environmental teams;
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation activities;
- Support proposal preparation, fee estimates, technical reports, studies, and client presentations;
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, commissioning activities, and construction support as required;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
Your Profile:
What makes you unique
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university;
- Registered as a P.Eng. (or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training or P.Eng.) with Engineers Nova Scotia, APEGNB, or another Canadian engineering association;
- Intermediate candidates: typically 4+ years of relevant consulting engineering experience;
- Senior candidates: typically 10+ years of relevant consulting engineering experience, including project leadership responsibilities;
- Strong experience designing building electrical systems within a consulting engineering environment;
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit; experience with AGi32, SKM PowerTools, or similar electrical analysis software is considered an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver high-quality work;
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects and mentoring junior team members is considered an asset;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism in French is considered an asset;
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as required.
