Join our dynamic urgent care veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist, where your enthusiasm and compassion will make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. This role combines front-desk customer service with hands-on support in animal care when needed. You’ll be the friendly face greeting clients, managing appointments, and assisting with basic veterinary procedures, all while ensuring smooth clinic operations and clinic cleaniliness.

Duties

- Welcome clients and their pets warmly, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out
- Manage appointment scheduling and triaging urgent calls
- Assist veterinary staff with basic animal handling, restraint, and care procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and reception space to uphold clinic standards
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about services, and appointments
- Support laboratory tasks such as sample collection and processing to aid in diagnostic testing when needed
- Ensure all client communications are clear, accurate, and friendly to foster trust and satisfaction

Skills





- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is highly required.
- Laboratory experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with clients and team members
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a quick-paced environment
- Ability to handle animals safely and confidently during examinations or procedures
- Detail-oriented mindset for accurate record keeping and data entry
- Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining professionalism

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in urgent care medicine. We bridge the gap between a patient's regular Veterinarian and the 24 hour emergency hospitals. There is no overnight work, which is a bonus for those who have other daytime roles. However we ask for flexibility as we are here for patients when needed.
