Job Description :
This is a senior embedded seat for an engineer who works close to the metal — BSP level, real-time operating systems, and hardware they can put a logic analyzer on. You will join a small-to-medium embedded software engineering team building real-time communication and control products, operating largely autonomously while collaborating across teams and occasionally directing supporting groups. Expect to own technical solutions to complex problems across the full new product development cycle, spanning analog and digital hardware alongside software operating systems. What You'll Do
- Drive team efforts toward project deliverables with a constant eye on customer focus, urgency, schedule performance, and quality.
- Apply deep technical skill to complex features — investigate, design, develop, and test through a full sequence of engineering tasks against established quality guidelines.
- Author and review requirements documents, designs, code, test cases, and user documentation.
- Perform unit and functional testing to verify correct operation against functional requirements and compatibility with surrounding system components.
- Strengthen the team's development capability by staying current on software practices, technologies, and tooling.
- Build genuinely collaborative working relationships — open, direct communication and the maturity to work productively across differing opinions.
- Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field.
- 7–10+ years of C/C++ development on microprocessors and microcontrollers (TI, NXP, or comparable).
- Solid experience with embedded real-time operating systems — Integrity, QNX, Linux, or equivalent.
- Hands-on work at the BSP level, plus applications and diagnostics.
- Proficiency with lab instrumentation — emulators, logic analyzers, DMMs.
- Working knowledge of standard interfaces: SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet.
- Strong English communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
PreferredWhat Sets a Strong Candidate ApartWhy This Role
- Thorough command of C/C++ beyond working familiarity.
- Background in mission-critical embedded software development processes.
- Industrial automation product development or comparable large-scale system development experience.
- Proven effectiveness testing real-time embedded products that combine software operating systems with analog and digital hardware.
- Agile/Scrum development experience.
- You have brought up a board from BSP through applications, not only written application-layer code on someone else's platform.
- You debug with instrumentation as a first instinct.
- You have shipped embedded product in a mission-critical or safety-conscious workplace.
- Real autonomy — senior engineers here own solutions, not tickets.
- Full-lifecycle involvement from architecture through validation.
- Hardware-adjacent work on real-time communication and control products.
- A small, high-trust team with cross-functional reach.
Pay: $75.00-$80.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
