Project-based with extended periods working in an office location when not on a project.
Start Date: ASAP
Expected Wage Range: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year plus additional allowances while travelling for work.
As a Project Coordinator at CIMS Limited Partnership, you will be a key contributor towards CIMS success by supporting the divisional General Manager with proposal submissions and project coordination while embodying CIMS corporate values of Our People, Our Promise, Our Passion.
This role is suited for someone who has the flexibility to travel for extended periods of time, especially in the spring and fall when the division is at its peak work season. This is a core requirement of the position.
You will be accountable for:
- Providing daily support to the General Manager with preparing proposals/change orders, supporting project controls team and readying crew (including sub-contractors) for the workday.
- · Serve as a key link with the clients and review the deliverables prepared by the team before passing onto client.
- Maintain clear site communication among crew, staff and management.
- Understand and Manage schedules accurately
- Assist other project team members with their individual contributions to the project.
- Attend site meetings and records notes/details of necessary information.
- Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
- Assist with creating teams, develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities.
- Project accounting functions include managing the budget, tracking if team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project.
- Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises.
- Communicate effectively with the stakeholders responsible for completing various phases of the project.
- Support the company's unwavering commitment to safety and quality at the worksite and in the project wrap-up.
A successful candidate would be an individual who has:
- Completion of Technical Degree or equivalent education and experience would be an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction administration and coordination (drawing reviews, contract administration, document management, change order procedures, etc.).
- Familiarity with P6 and MS Project software an asset.
- Proficient in computer Office Suite applications i.e. Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Familiarity with utilizing ERP’s and Project Software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills – Direct interactions with management, clients, vendors, and employees.
- Energetic, collaborative and team oriented.
- Highly organized and excellent time-management skills.
- Self-starter and highly motivated.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and other construction related documentation.
- Familiarity with construction sub-trade practices and work.
- Demonstrated skills and understanding of the role as a facilitator and problem-solver.
- Natural ability to multi-task within a fast paced and energetic workplace.
- Results-oriented including concern and attention to budgets, schedules, quality levels and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to develop agendas, conduct meetings, prepare minutes and other critical documentation, and develop action plans with appropriate follow-up.
Working conditions you can expect while performing your role include:
- Working in operating plant facilities including pulp mills, refineries, smelters.
- Working in high stress situations (i.e. collections, investigations and meeting deadlines).
- Lifting, standing, walking.
- Will be required to work outside of normal work hours (8+hrs a day, including possible weekends and holidays) especially while on site assignment.
