Jim Pattison Volvo Cars Surrey is looking for an experienced Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our growing Service Department.

What We Offer

- $40 to $46 per flat rate hour, based on Volvo certification level
- $83,200 to $135,000+ potential annual earnings (Actual earnings vary based on technician proficiency and efficiency under the flat rate system)

A Day in the Life at Volvo

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles according to manufacturer and dealership standards
- Complete thorough vehicle inspections and accurately document findings and measurements
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns and recommend appropriate repairs
- Work closely with Service Advisors to communicate repair findings, timelines, and additional safety recommendations
- Perform road tests and pre-delivery inspections to ensure vehicles are ready for customers
- Work with the Parts Department to source required parts and complete warranty labeling




- Support fellow technicians when needed to keep the shop running efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Handle customer and company information with a high level of confidentiality
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace
- The position involves:
- Working around moving vehicles, vehicle hoists, tools, and equipment
- Exposure to normal automotive shop noise, including engines and air tools
- Exposure to exhaust, solvents, dust, and other automotive shop materials
- Working in varying temperatures throughout the year
- Standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and other physical activity throughout the day

What We’re Looking For

- Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification, or currently working toward your Red Seal
- Previous automotive technician experience
- Robust diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- A valid BC Driver’s Licence and satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment
- Physically able to perform the requirements of the position, including regularly lifting up to 60 lbs and standing for extended periods
