**Job Title: General Production Worker** **Job Description**
As a General Production Worker, you will rotate work stations between feeding finished candy onto the dumping table and inspecting candy quality, ensuring that the packaged product meets quality standards.

You may also be required to pack bagged candy into cardboard boxes and manually load these boxes onto an empty pallet for the warehouse.

Effective communication of material requirements to appropriate personnel is essential, as is providing support to machine operators.

You will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the work area, fixing jam-ups, and recording batch numbers and time of day for every new pallet of candy.

Understanding and adhering to SOPs, work instructions, safety programs, and GMP and food safety requirements are critical components of this role.

**Responsibilities**

+ Rotate work stations between feeding finished candy onto the dumping table and inspecting candy quality.
+ Ensure packaged products meet quality standards.
+ Pack bagged candy into cardboard boxes and load onto pallets.
+ Communicate material requirements to appropriate personnel.
+ Support machine operators as needed.
+ Maintain cleanliness of work area and support major line cleaning.
+ Fix jam-ups as they occur.
+ Record batch number and time for recent pallets of candy.
+ Understand and adhere to SOPs and work instructions.
+ Participate in safety programs and ensure compliance with GMP and food safety requirements.

**Essential Skills**

+ Packing and general labor experience.
+ Production and packaging skills.
+ Ability to lift 30lbs.
+ At least 6 months of general labor and production experience.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Forklift operation.
+ Sanitation knowledge.
+ Experience with machine operating.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a large manufacturing facility with GMP compliance, heavily automated and state-of-the-art equipment.

It is temperature-controlled and very clean.

Compliance with GMP requirements, including PPE such as hairnets, beard nets, coats, and safety shoes, is mandatory.





The facility operates 24/7 with rotating continental day and night shifts (7-7).

There are approximately 400-500 total employees, with about 100 people per crew across four crews.

This is a Contract position based out of Hamilton, ON.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
