Neil Smith Construction Ltd. (NSC) is hiring an experienced Superintendent (Civil Works) to join our team in the Greater Vancouver area. NSC is a privately held civil construction company specializing in excavation, site prep, and site servicing for commercial, and public sectors.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Superintendent with proven experience in managing medium-scale underground utilities and earthwork projects valued between $1-5 million.

Major Responsibilities:

- Oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring compliance with plans, budgets, and safety standards.
- Plan daily operations on the job site, ensuring alignment with the project schedule and determining the necessary resources, materials, and workforce. Address these requirements promptly with the Project Manager.
- Actively monitor for scope creep and communicate promptly with the Project Manager to ensure adherence to the project scope.
- Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and resolve issues quickly to maintain project momentum.
- Ensure high-level reporting, including detailed extra work reports, photos, and documentation to maintain accurate project records.

Qualifications





- 3-5 years of experience in superintendent roles in earth work and underground utilities.
- Practical knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and civil construction practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Site Doc and effective communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Additional Requirements:

- Hands-on experience in water and sewage system pipe laying, manhole installation, or as an equipment operator is an asset.
- Ability to work under pressure, resolve conflicts, and manage competing priorities.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
