Solution Architect

Location: Remote within Canada
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Contract Duration: 3 months initially, with potential extension up to 24 months
Schedule: Full-time, up to 7.25 hours per day

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support digital transformation, service innovation, program review, and digital delivery initiatives within a large public-sector environment.

The Solution Architect will work closely with Product Owners, developers, designers, business analysts, and other technical professionals to design and deliver secure, scalable, user-centered digital services.

This is a hands-on architecture role requiring strong expertise in solution architecture, software development, system integration, Agile delivery, up-to-date technologies, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead solution architecture for digital transformation and digital service initiatives.
- Develop architectural plans aligned with Agile delivery and user-centered design principles.
- Assess existing systems, applications, integrations, and technology environments.
- Develop technical recommendations, prototypes, and feasibility assessments.
- Design scalable solutions that support iterative implementation and future-state architecture.
- Identify and mitigate architectural, technical, security, and delivery risks.
- Define system boundaries, integration approaches, APIs, interfaces, and interactions.
- Identify opportunities to reuse common platforms, components, services, and capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance throughout solution implementation and delivery.
- Review code changes and contribute to development activities when required.
- Guide development teams in detailed technical and solution design.
- Coach and mentor product and delivery teams on architecture and technical practices.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to balance business priorities, user stories, technical tasks, and technical debt.
- Contribute to architecture standards, principles, patterns, metrics, and best practices.




- Prepare architecture documentation, diagrams, presentations, and technical materials for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous improvement of architecture and digital delivery practices.
- Work effectively within cross-functional Agile teams through discovery, backlog refinement, sprint planning, development, and iterative delivery.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Digital Architect, Software Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role.
- Strong experience designing and delivering complex digital services or software solutions.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, application architecture, system integration, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with modern software development practices and architecture patterns.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum product delivery environments.
- Experience collaborating with Product Owners, developers, designers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud technologies and modern application platforms.
- Experience with legacy modernization, application transformation, or cloud migration initiatives.
- Ability to review and contribute to software development and code changes.
- Strong understanding of security, scalability, performance, maintainability, and solution resiliency.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with public-sector or government digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience delivering citizen-facing or user-centric digital services.
- Experience with DevSecOps,



CI/CD, microservices, API integration, cloud platforms, and modern application architectures.
- Experience establishing enterprise architecture standards and reusable technology components.
- Experience with large-scale modernization, enterprise transformation, or multi-system integration programs.
- Experience working in regulated, security-sensitive, or highly complex environments.

Pay: $100.00-$115.00 per hour
