About Lord’s Hot Sauce Company
Lord’s Hot Sauce Company is a Canadian-made premium hot sauce brand built around bold flavour, natural fermentation and our distinctive oak barrel aging process. We are a startup food company with big ambitions and a lot of opportunity ahead.
We are looking for a General Manager who is highly entrepreneurial, extremely organized and capable of moving seamlessly between strategy, operations and execution.
We are looking for someone who can look at the entire business, figure out what needs to happen, and make it happen.
The Role
You will be responsible for keeping the business moving across operations, production, finance, e-commerce, marketing, sales, logistics, quality control and business development.
You will work closely with ownership and external partners, while taking responsibility for the day-to-day business.
Operations & Production
- Oversee and manage production.
- Coordinate with production facilities, co-packers, suppliers and vendors.
- Maintain quality standards while finding ways to improve efficiency.
- Manage purchasing, ingredients, packaging and production requirements.
- Monitor inventory and ensure the business has what it needs to keep moving.
- Troubleshoot problems.
Quality Control & Regulatory
- Conduct mock recalls and maintain recall readiness.
- Manage CFIA applications and regulatory documentation.
- Maintain product traceability from ingredient to finished product.
- Coordinate microbiological testing and quality requirements.
- Maintain and update food safety and quality documentation.
- Work with production partners to ensure specifications and standards are met.
Logistics & Shipping
- Manage inventory movement and fulfillment.
- Coordinate freight, couriers and third-party logistics.
- Deliver products personally when deadlines matter more than convenience.
- Find creative solutions when something needs to get from Point A to Point B.
Finance & Analysis
- Build costing models and pricing structures.
- Analyze margins, profitability and operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to save money without sacrificing quality.
- Track costs and profitability across products and channels.
- Create reports and analysis.
- Support forecasting, budgeting and business planning.
Accounting Support
- Assist with accounting-related issues and problem-solving.
- Help connect operational decisions with financial realities.
- Provide the information and documentation needed to keep financial processes moving smoothly.
- Serve as the bridge between day-to-day operations and the accounting function.
E-Commerce & Digital
- Manage and optimize Shopify, Amazon, and other e-commerce platforms.
- Oversee online product listings, pricing, inventory and promotions.
- Monitor online orders, fulfillment and customer experience.
- Troubleshoot e-commerce issues and solve problems independently.
- Identify opportunities to improve online sales and conversion.
- Coordinate digital promotions, product launches and campaigns.
- Ensure all online channels accurately reflect the brand.
Marketing & Brand
- Create polished marketing materials and presentations.
- Design point-of-sale materials.
- Keep branding consistent, professional and on-brand across every touchpoint.
Trade Shows & Events
- Plan, organize and execute trade show participation.
- Coordinate registration, logistics, inventory, shipping and event preparation.
- Design booth layouts and promotional materials.
- Coordinate samples, displays and marketing materials.
- Work the booth, represent the brand and sell products.
Sales & Customer Relations
- Support sales efforts and manage key customer relationships.
- Build relationships with retailers, distributors,
foodservice customers and other accounts.
- Help close deals through product knowledge, preparation and problem-solving.
- Prepare sales materials, pricing and product information.
- Handle customer requests.
- Represent the company professionally.
- Identify new sales and business development opportunities.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of experience in operations, general management, entrepreneurship, CPG, food & beverage, retail or similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple areas of a business simultaneously.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms, ideally Shopify and Amazon.
- Solid financial and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the food, beverage or CPG industry.
- Experience working with retailers and distributors.
- Experience with CFIA, food safety, traceability or quality systems.
- Experience with trade shows and retail events.
- Experience managing Shopify, Amazon Seller Central or other marketplaces.
- Entrepreneurial or small-business experience.
