Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant or Optician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, assist with clinical and administrative tasks, and support the smooth operation of our optometry practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in ophthalmology, medical office procedures, and patient interaction within a dynamic healthcare environment. Prior optical or medical experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

- Greet patients and assist with check-in and check-out processes at the front desk
- Collect patient intake information and update medical records accurately
- Educate patients on optical products, lens options, and sales opportunities
- Support billing and coding processes related to ophthalmology services
- Assist in inventory management of optical supplies and medical equipment

Experience

- Prior experience in a medical office setting, optometry,



ophthalmology or dentistry clinic is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, OHIP billing, and ophthalmic procedures is preferred
- Retail sales experience, especially in optical or healthcare products, is advantageous
- Strong front desk skills including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and customer service are essential
